This blog is a spot for people interested in public policy and administration to express their thoughts on the field, whether they are just beginning or are old pros. What do you like about working in the public world and what’s not so good? How did you decide to pursue this career and what was the path you took to get there? In other words, this will be a place for free advice on working in the many areas of public policy, including information on undergraduate and graduate programs in public policy and public administration.
The public sector has been getting a bad rap for a long time. Although an ambitious goal, I hope this blog allows us to start taking a more nuanced look at public sector work. Undoubtedly some of the comments and thoughts here may expand into the private sector, with regards to both the nonprofit and for-profit sides. This is great! The hard and fast boarders between the three sectors are far more open these days so it would be impossible to talk about one without talking about all three.
