Where do you go to get a graduate degree in public administration or public policy? Which schools offer the best programs, the right concentrations, the most financial assistance? Is a MPA or MPP even necessary? What other degrees will help in the public sector?
I struggled with these and other graduate school decision related questions when I was choosing and applying to schools. Although the information is available, I found it sometimes difficult to find. I hope this page will provide a more concentrated area for graduate school information.
There are a few good websites to review graduate school and help prospective students decide which school is best for them.
I have found the most helpful to be the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). NASPAA offers lots of valuable information for professors, students, potential students, and alumni. They have a good search function to find schools offering graduate degrees in public policy at Find a School.
Although not as detailed as NASPAA, the US News and World Report offers rankings of public affairs graduate schools (compiled in 2008).
